Usually, precipitation is measured as height (mm or inch in the case of rain). However, the values may also be converted to the volume that is spread over an area (spread rate by volume).

Usage: Type the value to convert into the field, behind which you find the unit. Click on any empty space in the window or on the "calculate" button. Read the result in the other fields. Example: There has been rain of 13 mm. How much water has fallen on an area of one hectare ? Type "13" into the field behind which "mm of rain" is written. Click on any empty space in the window or on the "calculate" button. Read the result in the other fields (e.g. 130 m3/ha).
