From Ohm's law the relationship R = U/I follows for an ohmic resistance R, the voltage U,
and the current I. The electrical power is expressed by the product of the voltage U
and the current I as P = U*I. This converter calculates the relations between U, I, R, and P
when two of these values are given.
Usage:
Type two known values in any order into the corresponding fields.
After a click with the mouse on any free space of the window or on the "calculate"
button the calculation is performed. All results and the input values are dispalyed in their
basic units volt, ampere, ohm, and voltampere as well as with a number of prefixes.
Move the mouse over a unit or click on it to read its full name.
The calculation is performed using the values in those two input fields changed last.
After the calculation, these fields are coloured lightgreen while the fields displaying calculated
values are coloured pink. For another calculation with other values just type these into the
corresponding fields. In the case that you want to do another calculation with completely
different input, type the "reset" button.
Example: When 2.8 V and 500 mA are given, type these values into the corresponding fields.
After a click with the mouse on any free space of the window or on the "calculate"
button you can read the result (resistance = 5.6 Ω and power = 1.4 VA).
Remarks:
- Large and small numbers are written exponentially. As example
2.3e5 = 2.3⋅105 = 230000 or
4.5e-5 = 4.5⋅10-5 = 0.000045.
- There is no warranty for the conversion. Cactus2000 is not
responsible for damage of any kind caused by wrong results.
- Please send an email if you have suggestions or if you would like to see more
conversions to be included.
